This is the last chicken update for a while. I promise.

So, we’re still trying to work out what they like and don’t like for treats.

Corn, they ignore. Bread, they will eat out of your hand.

Raisins…well, let’s just say they get a bit enthusiastic.

Here are the girls getting their evening treat.

    Hey there.
    Congrats on your new (slightly weird) hobby :)
    How are you guys doing?
    Nice blog you have here!

    @Huss
    We’re doing okay! The chickens are kicking the ass out of the garden, though – they poo everywhere all the time, so I guess we’re going to have to do a lot more garden maintainence.

    How’s yourself?

    Was thinking of getting poultry as well, but ducks. The kind that eat slugs. But I was considering the poo factor might actually be worse than the slugs, so I changed my mind. Sticking with the cats for now. Otherwise all’s fine. Third kid due in Jan, the older two are growing scarily fast.
    Still playing a bit of wow, but mostly hordeside now. Thinking seriously about retirement, might ask you for some advise about writing, which is something I always wanted to give a go, and probably will when I quit work this winter. :)

    Advice? Not sure I’m in a great position to give it considering how far I have to go with my own writing, but I can always try…

    The most important bit is to write, and keep writing. It won’t all come out good, and usually not the first time, but the only way to get the trick of it is to keep banging away at it. Don’t get too disheartened by stuff that doesn’t work out, criticism when you get it and rejection if/when you try for publication. Take it on the chin, fix the things that need fixing, and keep on going.

    Also, the chickens found a slug today. They had a squabble over which one got to eat it.
